QA Technician

Salary: £29,972.79 per annum
Shifts: 4 on / 4 off
Day Shift: 7am – 7pm | Night Shift: 7pm – 7am

We are currently recruiting for 3 QA Technician positions to join our Quality Assurance & Technical team within our busy food manufacturing site.

We have:

  • 2 x QA Technicians – Day Shift, 7am–7pm
  • 1 x QA Technician – Night Shift, 7pm–7am

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced QA professional or someone looking to develop their career within food quality and food safety.

About the Role

As a QA Technician, you will play an important role in ensuring our products meet the required food safety, quality and customer standards.

Working closely with the Production and Technical teams, you will monitor production processes, carry out testing and inspections, investigate quality issues and ensure accurate records are maintained.

You will also act as a Quality and Food Safety Champion, helping to promote a strong quality culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and verify production processes against Quality and Food Safety Plans.
  • Carry out microbiological, chemical, shelf-life and organoleptic testing.
  • Complete quality and food safety records accurately.
  • Monitor and promote GMP and GLP standards.
  • Carry out glass, belt and quality audits.
  • Ensure product traceability throughout the production process.
  • Investigate customer complaints and identify root causes.
  • Support corrective and preventative actions.
  • Verify equipment in line with the Calibration Plan.
  • Identify and escalate food safety and quality concerns.
  • Place non-conforming product on hold where required.
  • Work closely with Production to reduce quality issues and customer complaints.
  • Ensure QA and production records are accurate, complete and easily retrievable.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and confident working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

You should have:

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene or equivalent.
  • HACCP knowledge/qualification.
  • Basic Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Food Science or an equivalent background.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing, QA or Technical environment.
  • Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to raise quality and food safety concerns.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.

Internal auditing experience and GMO awareness would be advantageous.

The Working Environment

This is a hands-on, fast-moving and highly automated manufacturing environment. The role is primarily based on the production floor, with some laboratory and administrative duties.

You’ll need to be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that may include warm and cold areas, noise and other manufacturing hazards.
